Up until recently, we've only gotten native PS1 and PSP emulation on PS4 and PS5. Soon, we'll see proper PS2 emulation arrive on Sony's modern consoles.

Since the company didn’t go the way of Xbox by allowing users to natively play old games on new hardware, PS4 and PS5 owners wanting to play their classic games on modern hardware have had to rely on the few digital PS2 games Sony has rolled out to its service.

Sony has announced the return of its Days of Play promotion and with it bonus Game Catalog, PS VR2, and PS2 titles through PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony said Days of Play 2024 runs from May 29 at 12:01am to June 12 at 11:59pm local time in each region.
