The second volume of the Beni Hassan series is devoted to the recording and study of the only decorated Old Kingdom tombs at the site, the tombs of Ipi and Bebi.

A fresh record of one of the best preserved Middle Kingdom tombs. The volume includes new line drawings, coloured photographs and a commentary on the architectural features, scenes and inscriptions of the Twelfth Dynasty tomb of Amenemhat.

Khnumhotep I was the first governer of the Oryx nome during Egypt's formative Twelfth Dynasty. Appointed by Amenemhat I, his tomb at Beni Hassan is one of the most significant for its insights on a pivotal period in Egyptian history.

The magnificent tomb of Khnumhotep II has never been completely recorded in drawing and photographs since its pioneering publication by P. E. Newberry in 1893.
