Frederick Bailey Deeming (30 July 1853 – 23 May 1892) was an English-born Australian murderer. He was convicted and executed for the murder of a woman in Melbourne , Australia. He is remembered today because he was suspected by some of being the notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper .

While in prison, Deeming told his fellow inmates that he was indeed Jack the Ripper, but never confessed to authorities. Deeming contended that a venereal disease he had contracted during his many voyages had caused him to have eptileptic seizures and brain disease which caused him to kill.

Convicted of murdering his wife Emily, whose naked body was discovered with a fractured skull and cut throat under the hearthstone of their rented house in Windsor, suburban Melbourne.

25 wrz 2021 · Very large text size. In 1892 while serial killer Frederick Deeming was awaiting sentence for killing his wife, he claimed that his dead mother was taunting him at night in his cell in Melbourne Gaol. He told visitors that it was she who had urged him to kill people.
