Pinturicchio was an Italian Renaissance painter who worked in Perugia, Rome and Siena. He painted frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, Santa Maria del Popolo and other churches, and was influenced by Perugino, Botticelli and Signorelli.

By 1481 Pinturicchio was associated with the Umbrian artist Perugino , whose influence on him was to be permanent.
A fresco by Pinturicchio and his workshop from the Palazzo del Magnifico in Siena, depicting the mythological triumph of Alexander the Great. The ceiling design was inspired by Nero's Golden House in Rome and features antique motifs and figures.
